What is the Multiple Choice, Multiple Answers Task?

In this task, you must read a passage of up to 350 words and answer a multiple-choice question about its content or tone. Unlike single-answer questions, there is more than one correct response.

1. Read the Question First

Before reading the long passage, read the question prompt carefully. This tells you what specific information, tone, or themes you need to look for, saving you valuable time during the test.

2. Scan for Keywords and Synonyms

Locate keywords from the question in the text and read around them. Keep in mind that the options will often use synonyms rather than the exact words found in the passage.

3. Beware of Negative Marking

This question type uses negative marking for incorrect selections. If you select an incorrect option, it will deduct points from your correct choices (though your score for this item will not drop below zero). Therefore, only select options you are confident about. Do not guess blindly.

How is this Question Scored?

Your response is evaluated based on whether you correctly select all valid options and avoid incorrect ones.

• Correct Options: You receive 1 mark for each correct response option you choose.
• Incorrect Options: Points are deducted for each incorrect option selected.
• Minimum Score: The lowest possible score for an item is 0 (negative marks cannot lower your overall test score below zero).
