Q33. What happens if I skip a word in Read Aloud?

Skipping a word in Read Aloud reduces your Content score for that question. However, partial credit still applies — missing one or two words will not reduce your score to zero.

Q35. Can I pause during PTE Read Aloud?

Brief natural pauses at punctuation marks (commas, periods) are expected and do not hurt your score. However, long unnatural pauses mid-sentence or mid-phrase will negatively affect your Oral Fluency score. Use punctuation as your guide — pause briefly at commas and slightly longer at periods.

Q36. Should I practice Read Aloud with a template?

No. Unlike Describe Image or Retell Lecture, Read Aloud does not use a template because the text is provided. The best preparation is to practice reading varied 40–60 word passages aloud daily, focusing on smooth pacing and clear pronunciation of academic vocabulary.
